If you have not received jalapenos or cheese sauce, please use product outage. Sandwiches can start as soon as product is received. Just wanted to share a quick message regarding the cheesy jalapeno quarter pounder. There's been some confusion around how to place the jalapenos on the sandwich. The correct procedure is to grab 8 to 10 jalapenos with a gloved hand and place them on the crown. The grill team does not need to remove gloves after each grab of the jalapenos, there will be a minimal amount of transfer which in test markets was fine. Restaurant Roof Maintenance It’s getting hot out but that doesn’t mean it should be hot in the restaurant. We must keep the HVAC units clean and the filters changed. Our equipment can not do its job without you looking after it. Please take the time now to go assess your restaurant. Glass Coffee Pots Glass coffee pots are not allowed in the restaurant. We should all be using thermal or bulk coffee at this point. If you need more please make sure to work with your leadership on ordering. Guest Shout Out Here is a guest shout out to Heather and her University team. Great Job! “I wanted to pass along my appreciation for your amazing staff at the University Avenue /Madison address. I stopped there on Saturday night after spending my third full day at a nearby hospital following my husband’s surgery for a broken back. I pulled into your drive through and ordered! Drove to the window and could NOT locate my wallet anywhere in my purse/front seat!! I was in a panic and really needed that amazing Diet Coke! When she opened the window I asked that she cancel the order and explained my situation!! Without skipping a beat she responded with a “Nope..it is all prepared and we want you to enjoy it”!! After the last long days that was just the boost I needed!! When I got home I located the wallet!! Thankfully!! The next day I drove through again and was happy to see her again!! I offered to pay her again..and she said it is totally fine and they were happy to help My day!! If Kiara (not sure of spelling) is any indication how you train all your people. BRAVO!!! She needs some recognition for her kindness and it is something that I will always take with me!! THANK YOU!!!” Digital Experience – Best Bet Please utilize the training videos to help your teams with ROA issues. All videos are on @mcd on the Ready on Arrival NABIT page. What can you do to shave off a few seconds or increase your score by a percent? Are any of your fellow patch GMs on top and you can reach out? WOW, in 3 days, we sold 15,000 PIES as an organization!! Breakfast Voice We are off to an extremely solid start with our new goal. We received 16 responses yesterday and are at 100%!! We started just a few days ago with 1 or 2 responses as an entire team. We are making progress. For some it may feel slow going but we are making progress. We are down to 10 restaurants that do not have responses. What will help us get there? There are a few tactics that we have asked of the team. Hang up the flyer, drive the VOICE incentive. I am strongly encouraging all of us to look at our hospitality cues and if our team at the points of contact are delivering on those. Points of contact would be at the order point, cashier booth and present booth. Identity those handful of people who typically work 7-9 Sunday through Saturday and let's have the right conversations. With that being said, we must also get the receipts into the hands of our guests. They are to be given out every time. We are fast sitting at 100 seconds Peak Breakfast OEPE for the month as an organization. Only 32257 and 5612 were above 120 this past week with both ending in the 120s. Now we must add the cherry on top with hospitality. Let's continue to put the effort in everyday until we build the next foundation of success with VOICE. The train is starting to leave the station. Make sure to get yourself and the team on board before it does. Let's do this together! We currently have 35667 leading the way with 20 responses at 95%. Nicely done! New Things on The Way The new Iron Arch training center is under way. Very exciting and stay tuned for updates. Listening Survey Keep working on the surveys. Feedback from the team is very important and the more responses we receive the better. Please utilize the QR Code below or on the flyers in your restaurants. PACE The Ops PACE team has compiled the following top areas of focus based on year-to-date 2023 brand protection visits and Operations Excellence Assessments: Food Safety (EcoSure and Health Department Inspections): · Restaurant cleanliness (floors, equipment, and walls), good hygiene practices (disposable gloves and other personal hygiene procedures), and food packaging procedures Health & Safety: · Exterior walking surfaces in good repair and electrical outlets, connectors, and cords in good repair Operations Excellence Assessment: · Speed of service across the drive-thru (OEPE), curbside and in-restaurant (R2P + fulfillment) omni channels · Elevating the digital customer experience (executing as designed) through a focus on a digital crew prompt (e.g., “Hi! Will you be using your McDonald’s App today?”) and using the guest’s name at key interaction points across all omni channels. · Strengthening production management through UHC product holding times and holding levels sufficient per posted product level charts, and products within secondary shelf lives. - The Loop 2/7/23
< Back The Loop 2/7/23 Welcome to The Loop! The Loop is an easy way to stay “in the loop” for the goings on of Iron Arch & McDonald’s. Everything in one place. Need to go back and see an old issue? They are now archived on the Team Center under, you guessed it, The Loop. Or click this link . Community Events It was a busy week last week with community events. Thank you to all the restaurants that hosted an event. Guest Shout Out Here is a guest shout out for Kate and her team at Byron. Great Job! “I was at the Byron McDonald’s at 9pm on a Friday night and the manager was absolutely killing it. The store had gotten slammed both drive thru and lobby and the manager did an amazing job treating each customer with absolute kindness and customer service. He is an asset to your team. I wish I had gotten his name. I hope you can share.” Digital Experience We need to ensure that every guest that we contact via curbside or table service is asked “Do you have everything you need?”. “Hello Sally, thank you for using curbside, do you have everything you need?...”Thank you, have a great day” Digital Stats – February Month To Date Digital usage 26.25% of transactions Calendar February 7th – GM Patch Calls 130-230p February 8th – Kitchen DM Meeting 9a-4p Nick’s Market @ #5836 Mulford 314 N Mulford Rockford IL and Michael’s Market @ #94 Madison Rd. 1443 Madison Rd. Show your "McDonald's Team Spirit" and take lots of pictures and submit them to office@iammcd.com Ready On Arrival Ready on Arrival begins on February 22nd. There are now training videos on the ROA Nabit page on @mcd. If you missed the webcast, the recording is on there as well (LINK). While ROA may not seem difficult, there are some procedural changes for all pickup points at the restaurants. Please watch the training videos and open the NABIT ROA box that will arrive at your restaurant. Training is also available for managers and crew through Fred. Simply click this logo within the Crew Training or Shift Leadership collections. Winter Safety Due to rising and falling temperatures please remember to salt all sidewalks and areas with ice in the parking lot daily. We need to be proactive to prevent guest and employee injuries due to slip and falls. The amazing sunshine during the day, combined with freezing temperatures overnight created very slippery surfaces. In-Person Leadership Transitions There is still room in the March 28th – 30th in-person leadership transitions. This 3-day course will be held at the office and be combined with some operational instruction at a restaurant. All students must have all 16 modules completed prior to the class. Please email amyo@iammcd.com if you have any students. Save the Date – All GM/Staff Meeting Our general manager/staff meeting will be held on March 1st from 9a-4p at the Beloit Sports Center. The Beloit Sport Center is located at 557 E Grand Ave, Beloit, WI 53511. You do not have to wear a McDonald’s work uniform if you do not want to, business casual is fine. Lunch will be served around 12. There will be some snacks and refreshments but feel free to bring some of your own. If there are any topics you want discussed, please let your leadership team know no later than February 14th. We look forward to seeing everyone soon! Best Burger Readiness – Don’t Forget Please complete this Best Burger #2 Survey by February 14th. All Iron Arch restaurants will be on a max run size of 6 NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 14th. Deployment schedules for each patch will be determined and start in mid-March. People Brand Visits Just a reminder that all signs relating to our recent People Brand Visits are to remain in place until otherwise notified. Please make sure your restaurant team understand that the following signs should not be removed without Supervisor permission: HR Stop Sign (English and Spanish) with QR Codes linking to updated Survey Summary, Current Employee Handbook and Zero Discrimination Policy. Current 10 in 1 Poster (which includes information on "Mitigating workplace violence" Crew Wellness Check Poster (posted near time clock) To ensure all restaurants are compliant, we are asking that all General Managers complete this People Brand Visit Readiness Survey by February 14th. If you find you are missing any of the forms listed, please email office@iammcd.com ASAP for replacements. Back Up CO2 Air Gas Cylinders While reviewing our contract with Airgas we noticed many of our restaurants have more than 2 back up cylinders. The next time a location needs a full cylinder call the 800 number at 800-772-8144 and tell them how many empty cylinders need to be picked up and how many full cylinders need to be delivered. They will only pick up when making a delivery for a full cylinder. The cylinders must be visible and all in one spot where they typically would drop off. If you have any questions please email riley@iammcd.com . Boil Outs Don’t forget it is time again for boil outs. Please see the attached schedule for your date and directions. RHS Security Patch Updates We have a couple restaurants that have some updates upcoming. You'll know the update is running if you see the below message on any of your registers. This will cause your POS Open to take a little longer. Please do not reboot any of your POS devices until everything is finished, and call ATOS if it takes longer than 30min or you can't complete your POS for some reason. The following restaurants are scheduled: 2317 - 2/8 31419 - 2/9 32257 - 2/9 94 - 2/13 3488 - 2/13 26906 - 2/15 29838 - 2/15 4231 - 2/16 25899 - 2/20 26289 - 2/20 5612 - 2/27 6275 - 2/27 Famous Order 2.0 The Famous Order begins on February 14th. All the manager needs to do is put in your restaurant location, the new hires name and email address, the general manager's name, and the training schedule, and who they will meet with on their first day. Once the form is submitted a copy of it will be sent to the new hire, the general manager, and the restaurant email to be printed and posted for all managers to review. Please still reach out to new hires by phone call too with their training schedule. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Maria Z.
